How to read a maison page

Each page carries the reading, a house card — origin, founding year, atelier, ownership with the date that ownership was checked, and signature — then the figure the house stands on with its publisher, table and year, then where the house sits in this register: its rank inside its atelier, its place by founding year, its stablemates, its national cohort.

Two of the hundred carry no figure. Loewe's placement claim named no table and no year, and Veuve Clicquot's growth figure came from a luxury table that was never issued for that year. Both were cut, neither was replaced, and both are on the corrections page.
